#HRInnovators Award, sponsored by Blueboard, Inc.

Congrats to our Inaugural #HRInnovators Award Winner for HR West 2017:

John Erban, SPHR
Vice President, Head of Global Recruitment, Axiom
Greater New York City Area

John Erban leads global talent acquisition at Axiom, a pioneering innovator in the legal industry and a leading provider of technology-enabled legal services. He oversees talent acquisition for two critical parts of Axiom’s business:

1) The global Business Team (sales, marketing, product, business operations, etc.) across 17 offices and 3 continents and
2) Complex client services that account for nearly 1/3 of Axiom’s global revenues

A member of Axiom’s People Leadership Team, he also plays a key role in developing and advancing broader People strategy and initiatives.

Before Axiom, John was an Analyst at a global investment bank and then earned a Master’s degree with a focus on assessment. He has been with Axiom for over 5 years in a variety of roles, both within Axiom’s commercial organization and on the People team. John earned a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree from Harvard and is certified with the HR Certification Institute (HRCI) as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). He is also an award-winning opera singer and has performed extensively throughout Boston, New York, and parts of Europe.

What John’s team and colleagues had to say about him:
“I have never met someone so committed to improving candidate experience and hiring efficiency. As a firm we are growing hugely and needing to hire at an almost industrial level, and that transformation could not have happened without a very strong, commercially minded yet creative leader. I could go on and on about John’s successes…”

“John has revolutionized our department in a number of ways.
1. Repivoted our department from a reactive team to a proactive one – pushing us to create talent pools of available candidates.
2. Established us as trusted advisors – not order takers. We are true business partners with hiring managers, weighing in on team organization, compensation etc.
3. Set up a new interview candidate experience – we now have a rigorous interview segmentation process and we test candidates for their fit within our Axiom Aethos criteria.”
