Employers utilize a variety of tools to incentivize employees, be it bonus schedules, commissions, or piece rate plans. All are lawful. However, there are numerous rules that go along with incentive plans, such as a higher hourly rate, fluctuating over-time rate, separate compensation for rest breaks, and more.
