Gina chairs the Labor & Employment Practice and has over 20 years of experience in labor negotiations and grievance arbitrations, labor and employment law counseling, and employment law litigation and mediation. She handles labor and employment matters for clients in the education, healthcare, retail, museum, hospitality, marketing, and technology sectors, among others. She has special expertise in sexual harassment and assault, discrimination, accommodation, retaliation, disability, leave of absence, failure-to-hire, wage-and-hour, marijuana use, and employee privacy. During her ongoing six-year mayoral appointed term on the San Francisco Civil Service Commission, she has addressed nearly every type of employment claim as the Commission oversees all aspects of City employment. As part of the five-member Commission, Gina adjudicates disciplinary appeals and discrimination complaints, and sets policy on eligibility and hiring, promotion, qualifications, and job classification. Gina also conducts workplace investigations, focusing on high-profile investigations involving executives and managerial employees in public, private and non-profit organizations. She has conducted investigations involving claims of bullying/abusive conduct, implicit bias, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, misappropriation, fraud, workplace violence, whistleblower and ethics violations.
