Wendy Scott will retire as SVP, Chief Human Resources Officer of Varian Medical Systems in the fall of 2017, a position she has held for 13 years. During her tenure, Varian, a medical capital equipment, software and services company, more than doubled to a company of 6500 employees with operations in over 30 countries and revenues in excess of $2.5B. The company’s mission is to create a world free of the fear of cancer and to save millions of lives.
During her tenure, Scott developed the human resources organization from a de-centralized group of generalists into a skilled group of individuals working efficiently across the world in HR business partner, Centers of Expertise, and shared services roles.
Prior to Varian, Scott held HR roles with increasing responsibility at Sun Microsystems, Genentech and Varian Associates. She earned a Bachelor’s degree at Boston University and a Master’s degree at Stanford.
